I’m baaaaack. I was able to pick up my laptop from the Apple Store today, and I couldn’t be more excited! I can now get back to regular writing, which is perfect because writing more regularly is part of my new year resolutions for 2017, as well as part of my agreement to Rara helping me get my computer repaired.

I always tell myself to write more, and so far, I haven’t done such a great job. I seem to do alright for a while, then eventually life happens, and I fall off the writing map for a while. Considering all the things that are going on in my life at the moment, I really do want to stick to my writing goal, and at minimum I’d like to write at least a few times a week, and eventually work writing into my daily routine.

Other than writing more often, there are a few other goals that I set for myself. One is reading, which is a pretty usual yearly goal for me. Last year my goal was to read 75 books, and I believe I read around 68 books. This year I decided to stick to 75 books again, mainly because I didn’t meet that goal last year. Thus far, I have yet to complete my goal, but I’m not beating myself up about it (yet) since I don’t get much reading done during tax season anyway. I’m also trying to read the Bible before the end of the year (again), since last year I only made it to about 52%, then I was hit with the cancer diagnosis, and well, that messed everything up.

Along with my reading goal, I am pleased to announce that I have started an online book club called The Nerd Herd, and so far there are 5 members! I know that doesn’t seem like very much, but considering that anyone would actually want to join it’s pretty exciting for me. There are different challenges within the group, and I’m currently working on the very first challenge, the cover challenge. The cover challenge is where you read a book based solely on the cover without reading any information about the book or inside the book. For my book, I chose The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich. So far, it’s a pretty easy read and also rather intriguing. We also have two other challenges posted so far, plus a book that we are reading together in addition to our individual challenges. Membership to the book club is open to all, so feel free to join!

My last goal for the year is to take one photograph each day. So far, I’ve stuck to this one! At the end of the year I want to put together a video of all 365 pictures. For now, instead of sharing my daily pictures on here, I think that I will refrain until the end of the month and upload a monthly video. I can’t wait to see what my end-of-the-year video will look like!
